seems as if there isn't any thread yet dedicated to street portraiture. ( if there is one that I had overseen, tell me please and I shall delete this thread, resp. this note in case that there really isn't any )
please add your's. Not any prerequisite, it's all up to you, I'd appreciate info on lens and film resp., if digital, camera used and also critiques and opinions.
my contributions will be taken on digital, but to start one taken on film, color slide actually,
with a Minolta Celtic 2.8/28mm lens in San Blas, Mexico 1979

There was a large thread but I believe it was deleted by the OP. Great to have a replacement thread!

This was shot in 2007 with a FM3A, Makro Planar 50 and AGFA Scala - what a combo !
The person shown is Signor Watanabe - owner of New Old Camera in Milan - a sanctuary for Leica afficionados, new and second hand shop and repair facility plus a place for workshops and various photo-cultural events. Today, he is 9 years older and 30 kilos slimmer...

Marek you surprised Watanabe-San, Nick that's a sharp look in the metro, Lynn I find the last portrait of the veteran very impressive, expressive the 'stranger' and the waitress is lovely

haha Peter, that Lieutenant Colonel looks like a caricature of himself
right, the transition to digital of street pros in Vietnam is almost complete. Only a few years ago they all used analogue SLRs, some are still around and so one also still can see the box they use for developing film right on the beach. Some years ago I had some pics made by a pro using film at that same beach, he had used an Oly with a 1.8/50 and the 'prints' had been delivered within 35 minutes. I did not see where they had done the enlarging. Now, using digital, they use small, portable printers.
I have a number of pics showing these photographers at work, this is the one that comes closest to a street portrait, 3 of them, taken with a S-M-C Takumar 1.4/50 on a Pentax K-x at the same back beach of Vung Tau in 2009

Thanks for starting this anew, Andreas.
I'll be contributing some street work to an event on homelessness this weekend. Here are a few examples.

thank you Robert. Your homeless photos are 'street portraits' in the best sense, so are those of Greyscale. I am never so sure about mine, but believe that common categories better be inclusive than exclusive because creating many more categories would be confusing
