This is cheating a bit but I recently bought the Nikon 35mm f2 AF ( for SLRs of course-and thats where the cheating comes in from this forums viewpoint at least.)
And I am kinda taken by its nice rendering and pretty acceptable bokeh. Mind you I must confess thatt he following (taken this weekend) has had a little help from Mr Photoshop to soften the color and sharpness a little. But at the end of the day its still a pretty nice photo taken with that lens. Shot wide open it demonstrates pleasant bokeh.

35/2.8 Zuiko in the Olympus XA. Yeah it vignettes, but it's sharp as hell and has unmistakeable character!

I haven't used enough 35 lenses to have a favorite, but I like the lower contrast look of the Canon 35/2.8.

Yes. Lager does, and internet rumor is wrong
. While Leitz has not published any difference, Lager remarks that the v3 (starting at 2461001) has entry and exit pupils of different size than v2, therefore is optically different (both have 6 elements).

35mm is not my favorite focal length. Right now I have only the Summilux ASPH on the M6 and the UC-Hexanon on the R-D1. And I have the 40/2 on the OM-1 (anybody want to buy a nice Zuiko 35/2?). The only other 35 that tempts me right now is the Nokton 35/1.2 but who knows? Maybe someday I will see the light and replace some 50mm lenses with 35mm.

I have been considering selling all and getting a 35 lux aspherical. All includes the 50 cron v6, hex 28 2.8, and cv 35mm 1,2 and 2,5s. I use 35mm lenses most of the time and seem to talk myself into using the other lengths because I have them. I will soon lose printing time as well and likely get another digital Nikon setup soon, so one lens with the leica would be nice. But justifying trading all these toys for one is very difficult...

The Canon 35/2. It's very compact, a great performer in color and b&w, and 1/4-1/3 the price of any Summicron.

There are so many great 35s that I look for other factors, such as size. I shot with the 35 Lux ASPH for years but gave it up in favor of the 35 Lux pre-asph. My style just called for something more compact & pocketable.

I have tried a couple of 35mm lenses but still prefer 50mm. The 35mm lenses that I own and use are my all-time favorite 35mm Summilux-M pre-ASPH:
