In answer to Juan's orginal poll; I think I have too many! :) (ranging through a GXR with m-mount unit to an M8 and X-pro1).

However, I use frequently a Ricoh GRII. I suspect this is a combination of its excellent image quality and ergonomics, coupled with its compact form fact making it easy to have with me at most times.....

My first was a Lumix FX3 bought to document family history records.
It got me back into photography and I still have it.

The first GRD and then the 4 and finally the 5.
All sold .

Canon 40D
Sold

Sigma 2M and 3m
Still very much in use.

Canon 5D2
About to be sold as the AF has never been fast enough for my purposes.

Latest is a Sony A7S
Very happy with this one .

  • Mavica MVC 2000 (truly bizarre)
  • Apple Quicktake 100 (loved it, made a lot of money with it)
  • Leica original Digilux model (fun, but ultimately disappointing)
  • Digilux 2 (truly awful)
  • Olympus E-20 (took it out of the box during 9/11)
  • Nikon D100 (2002 they just did not have a clue)
  • Some other Nikon
  • A bunch of horrible little Lumix cameras that I want to forget, full and micro 4/3.
  • Leica M8 loaned to me by a Leica dealer, liked it sort of, right price.
  • Canon D6 (marginally acceptable, weighs a ton, really not a portable device)
And a bunch of Apple iPhones, and iPods, so far the only digital cameras I have really liked.

1) some sort of Canon powershot A320? Can't remember.
2) Canon G5
3) Pentax K200D
4) Fuji X100
5) Sigma DP1 Merrill

Don't own any right now, except for iphone- which I use for most of the photos I have taken in the last few years.

  • Konica Minolta RD-3000 (same lens mount as Minolta Vectis system)
  • Panasonic DMC-FX30 (compact)
  • Canon PowerShot S100 (compact)
  • Fujifilm X100
  • Panasonic DMC-FT5 (compact)
  • Fujifilm X-Pro1 (XF mount)

2 or 3, depending on how you look at it:

Fuji X100, sold it
Pentax K-01
Fuji X100 again

This film fan is trying to like them, but it's not easy.
I admire the Fuji because it reminds me of a small 35mm rangefinder camera.
I received the K-01 as a gift. I am a dedicated Pentax film camera user.

To be honest, I have lost track... More than I can count or rather remember. Definitely more than 30. There are still 24 here in my study.

Olympus E20P (sold)
Olympus E1 (x2 - one sold still have original from 2004)
Nikon D70 (sold)
Epson R-D1 (x 2 - both sold)
Leica Dlux 2 (for my wife - still have)
Leica M8 (x 2 - 1 sold, 1 still have)
Olympus E400 (x2 - 1st given to my wife second to my son)
Olympus E3 (x 2 - both sold)
Canon 5d (x2 - both sold)
Pentax K5 (sold)
Canon 5D11 (sold)
Fuji X100 (still have)
Fuji X Pro1 (X2 - both sold)
Leica M8.2 (sold)
Fuji XE1 (sold)
Nikon D300 (x2 - both sold)
Olympus OMD EM5 (sold)
Olympus E5 (x 2 - both sold)
Nikon Df (still have)
Pentax K5 II (sold)
Canon 6D (sold)
Nikon D600 (sold)

That makes 31 of which seven are still here - four mine (Df, M8, X100 and E1). That is a scary number especially if I consider that there was an acquisition/disposal cost (loss)attached to most. :bang:

Hi RFF,

I've never owned a film camera..please don't ban me :)

Canon Digital Elph S110 (2001) My first camera. Battery eventually died and battery door broke but I still have this camera for sentimental value.

Panasonic Lumix FZ20 (2004) Gave it to my parents.

Canon 20D (2005) My first real camera. Learned a lot about photography on it. Gave it to a good friend 10 years later who also wanted to learn.

Canon 5DmkI (2007) My first full frame experience. Sold to a friend

Canon 5DmkII (2010) Still own this camera. The money maker... go-to camera for paying customers.

Sony NEX-5 (2011) My first foray into mirrorless. Camera was stolen in 2012.

Canon 1DMkIV (2012) Still own this camera. The money maker part II

Sony NEX-5 (2012) Bought a used one to replace the one that was stolen. This camera was also stolen in 2013.

Sony NEX-7 (2013) Bought to replace the stolen NEX-5. Thankfully, I still have this camera and it is not stolen yet.

Sony A7R (2014) Full frame mirrorless! Still own it, currently my most used camera for leisure.

Ricoh GXR (2015) used discontinued bargain...M mount.. so cheap that I couldn't resist. Still own it

Sony NEX-3 (2015) used, bought it for $25. Still own it.

Leica M9 (2017) Finally, I have you! Still own it.

Not many, five I think. A Kodak DC210+, a Fuji Finepix (can't remember the model), a Minolta Z1, a Nikon P50 (P & S) and the newest a Panasonic G2. Only still have the last two and no plans for anything else. On phones, several, none of which impressed me enough to give up a proper camera.

I think this is the entire list.

Canon Digital Elph S100

Canon Digital Elph S500

Leica D-Lux 3

Leica M8

Fujifilm X100

Fujifilm X10

Lumix DMC-LX7

Leica M9-P

Fujifilm X20

Ricoh GR

Olympus EM-5 MkI

Olympus EM-5 MkII

Hasselblad Stellar

Olympus Pen-F

I primarily shoot film, but I have had a few digital cameras over the years.

Canon ELPH S400 (2003-2010)
Canon G12 (2010-2012)
Canon G1X (2012-2014)
Fuji XE2 with 18-55mm f2.8-4 (2014-current)

As you can see, the trend is steadily moving up in sensor size. Is an A7RII or GFX next?

Oops, I might need an adding machine. But here goes:

Fuji MX-700, small, wear on my belt, a fabulously successful camera for me
Fuji MX-4800, better image quality, almost as well used by me
Nikon D-70 for the first time, I sensed I was using a real camera. Still have it
Nikon D-100, bought for a song with AF problems. Used a bit and sold.
A very tiny Minolta Dimage X-something, smaller than a deck of cards, too small, lost it
Panasonic Lumix LX-1, tiny travel camera, big success
Nikon D-200 a big step up, sold upon arrival of D-300
Nikon D-300 when my pals told me it had 1-2 stops better ISO, still have and use
Olympus E-330 first camera that allowed macro focusing on the LCD
Panasonic Lumix LX-5, replaced LX-1, another success, in my briefcase always
Nikon D-7200 for birds with long lenses, still a primary camera
Nikon D-600 when they went on sale. Still use occasionally. Seldom see advantage over DX
Sony NEX-5n a breakthrough in size and convenience.
Sony A6000 x2, my primary workhorses today, based on terrific experience with the 5n
Sony NEX-3 with IR conversion, to experiment with IR
Sony NEX-7 bought used, for convenience
Sony A7-ii still experimenting with full frame
DJI Phantom 3 4K fabulous aerial video/still camera

There should be a poll choice for, "I have no idea." There was a Sony Mavic in there around 2000. ;)

I recently came across a Lumix that I had no idea I owned. If you don't know how many you've got right now, what hope is there of correctly counting the superset?

Sony Cybershot 5.0 - bought used, good introduction
Nikon D200 - great camera, sold because of limited high ISO quality
Panasonic P&S - terrible image quality despite relatively high mp count, sold
Canon G11 - still using as a back-up travel camera
Nikon D7000 - main digital camera for serious work
Olympus TG-820 - basic camera for bad weather photography

I got my first digital camera in 2000 so let's see if I can remember them all...

Nikon P&S
2-3 Canon P&S
Sony P&S
Canon Prosumer P&S
Canon 300D
Canon 30D
Canon 5D mkii
Fuji x100
Fuji X-Pro 1
2 Leica M9
Fuji x100s
Fuji x100t
Fuji X-Pro 2
Fuji x100f

So that's 16-17 vs 13 or so film cameras. The only digital cameras I have now are 2 Fujis and honestly have no interest in upgrading to anything else.

My first, around 2000, was a Casio Exilim 2mp pocket camera. Donated that to charity eventually. Now have two Nikon dslrs and two Canon point-and-shoots. I have about 12 film cameras.
