1 I have read this thread very carefully. I cannot see where it says that the photo must be taken during days 1-25 of the month: just exhibited in that time frame. Is that correct?

2 Anonymous is a good idea. But in this small community with relatively few active photo posting people how anonymous will it be? I can spot a Pitxu, nico, swann, jan normandale, memphis, petronius, back alley, TatianaShe, OurManInTangier, kathytoth.ca and so on with my eyes closed. So their photos would never be 'anonymous'.

3 When photos are sent to the new gmail submission address will they be uploaded to the competition thread as they arrive or will they be uploaded all together on day 25? Without a trickle of entries (or a torrent) day by day it may be difficult to keep this competiton in people's minds.

Then it's worth a shot. The winner send the Magic Roll to the next winner. That sounds great.
Before changing the rule, let's see what other members think of it.

That's correct

We'll see if you do ;) But this contest is open to everybody, and I hope not only our friends participate in it.

Thank you for clarifying that we can submit photos from our stock rather than taking new photos. I thought that some people felt the pressure of time for the first Magic Roll and Poll which indicated they may be taking photos to order specially for this thread.

I would bet that I could see a Marc-A. photo with ease. (Unless he'd borrowed one from his friend Josef K. and I thought it was his own.)

Trickle is a really good decision, and along with some bumps will keep this thread interesting.

How does it work? Do you have permission to view it?

I haven't checked the "kettle" threat for a long time. My fault. I'm gonna catch up on my reading.

Ok I finally found it. After a quick thought, here's my opinion:
1. pictures are to be sent to the gmail address
2. then we load them in the January contest gallery (if people use the January contest gallery directly we won't be able to keep the submission anonymous)
3. finally we link them into the thread.

Sounds good?
 
I'd like to say that I had some fun with this one and I appreciate Marc's initiative in getting the photography side of RFF a bit of a kick start with this regular salon he's set up.

I've sent Marc my suggestion for the next Magic Roll Salon. I believe he will be posting something on that shortly unless he has any thoughts prior to the notice going up. Thanks to everyone who submitted because the more who do the more notice photography will receive at this site.

Ladies and Gentlemen please load up your cameras and have them at the ready for the starters pistol! Good luck!
