So far so good. I enjoyed Mexico vs RSA and the England vs USA game. Every four years I actually feel part of the world community. I like that!

Damn English! I bet a 2:1 for England, to be sure, and of course they have to go and let me down, the buggers...

But this is why I root for them (altough I have nothing against the US): the English Football Team are the classic underdogs. Always fighting like hell but never making it.

Rubbish England as usual. A horrendous piece of goalkeeping from Green; bad body angle to the flight of the ball, poor body positioning, hands too close together, hands at an angle that allowed him to pass the ball into the net. I've seen better on pub teams. I thought England were poor in the second half, they pressed a bit more but the movement up-front was very poor and the midfield had to do way too much work to try to move the ball forward. Lennon and Wright-Philips were useless - there was no wide game at all and the crossing was very poor when it did happen. Quite honestly, England played like a bad Premier League team, and the only good thing about this was they can't play any worse. As usual, the frequency with which a white shirt passed to a blue shirt was infuriating, once again typical Premier League stuff. Again, they can't play any worse, it's a long tournament and they have a point. I'm trying to look on the bright side...

Well done to ITV, the British broadcaster of this game, who inexplicably cut to an ad break in the 4th minute on their HD feed. When the game came back on, 1-0 to England!!

ITV has previous in this sort of thing, Liverpool v Everton in the FA cup last year, a massive game, in the last minute of extra time they cut to a break and Everton scored!!!

Lightning doesn't often strike twice...

underdogs that are usually understood as odds-on favourite against other 'underdog' teams!

Just walked round the garden in frustration.
Having again watched the England football team fail to play football I feel that I could have done anything better than watch that USA-England match. What a complete waste of time. What a dreadful match! Clueless the lot of them!

I really should be gracious and say that Timmy Howard had an excellent game. Excellent. I think my club made a mistake when they allowed him to go to Everton.

I am feeling pretty good right now. Not a win, but a good start as result. It would feel better if our goal was, err, an earned goal.

England should really base their team around all the best players in the Premier League ......... except of course, none of them are English!
