I am intrigued by this lens but where can I see a side-by-side comparison with other lenses to get an idea of how long/wide/large it is?

Think 90/2 Summicron E55 but 5 mm longer and from the aperture ring on a diameter as a Noctilux f1 E60.

It is among the three largest Leica M lenses (apart from the multi focals, which I have no clue about).

Thanks Dirk, that helps a lot. I have a good impression now. I'm attracted to the lens to use it indoors with film when I want to reach just a little bit longer than 50mm. Time to start thinking seriously :)

Cheers
Philip

Cant go wrong trying out a 75 Summilux.
It is one of Leica's true classic lenses but other than for example the Noctilux f1 it truly is a high performance lens once you stop it down a little.

Size comparison: (left to right)

(1.) Voigtlander Heliar 75/f2.5 LTM
(2.) Leica APO Summicron 75/f2 ASPH. FLE.
(3.) Leica Summilux 75/f1.4
(4.) Leica APO Summicron 90/f2 ASPH.
(5.) Leica Summicron 90/f2 E55
(6.) Leica Elmarit M 90/f2.8

Brilliant, thanks heaps. I have an Elmarit-M so I get a very good impression of the dimensions from this comparison. It's rather large (!)
