American Road Trip 1979 on Kodachrome

These photos have brought up many memories. They also ignite the old fire of roadtripping. Especially those taken from the vehicle as you cruise down the highway. Sadly my physical condition sort of precludes the long distance wanderlust. But the memories are vivid. Thank you, Lynn.

You're very welcome! Glad to hear I've brought back happy memories.

#USA30-17 driving from Tahoe to Yosemite, 06 June 1979.
This drive was more exciting than I wished for - miles of downhill grade with tight curves and no guard rails. The driver was in a hurry and only had two speeds, flat out and heavy braking for each curve. The van was likely overloaded: 15 people with luggage and camp gear on the roof. Before long the smell of cooked brakes filled the cabin. I pleaded with the driver to slow down. I was thankful we made it, finally, to Wawona.
