Life around us

Leica-Part2-Italy-396-X3.jpg

We took a 2-hour boat ride from Limone to the town of Sermione in the southern part of Lake Garda. The images taken from the boat came out "fuzzy" looking due to the shaking boat from the waves.

Buildings often were very old. Our room in Bergamo (say) was in a building that was built in the 13th century.

We saw many fancy cars!

A passenger on the boat suddenly stretched out her arm in front of my lens!

Things looked much nicer than what is seen in images!

The Alps framed Lake Garda beautifully. My favorite place was the hotel balcony overseeing the lake and the mountains, getting cool wind blowing into my face!

A nice series of photos Raid! Sure your lens is interesting and I like the general rendering. But I'm not a pixel peeper, no interest in that.

Did you find having only one lens (most of the days) was limiting your photography or giving you more freedom to look around you and concentrate on the subjects?

The limited dof when full open can be sometimes difficult to get used to it but it can produce very interesting pictures.

Hello Robert,
Using one lens only was a great idea by you (and others) to enjoy the photography and life and not worry about which lens to use each shot.

[Part 3 of the images] After leaving Trento we drove to Brescia. Each town has its own charm.

We walked through this tunnel to reach the old city from our hotel (on Day 1). On Day 2 there, we just took the Metro from the hotel since it was over 90F. Hot.

Just normal life around us there.

If this thing falls down ....

Leica-Part3-Italy-50-X3.jpg

There was a major car race taking place in Brescia and neighboring towns.

All stores had signs about this race.

Finally, I took a selfie!

Driving there for was at times quite challenging. US streets suddenly felt as being enormously wide.

Our rental car was a BMW X2. I like it.

I hope that you could get a good feeling for the CV lens and also that my goal always has been to capture life and not anything else. It was a very relaxing trip for me.

Lovely photos, Raid! It's always amazing just how flexible a single 50mm ... or 35mm ... lens can be with a creative eye behind the camera. The CV 50mm f/1.0 looks pretty nice too; always nice to see good lens options at a reasonable price. :)

Thank you Godfrey.
I appreciate such words for sure.

The 50mm is a great lens. I could have done well with the Lux 35mm, I think.
I used the CV 50/1 on 15 days and I used the Lux on one day.
