Was the Pixii design made large enough so that they could later make a full-frame version without much trouble?
Stephen, how does the back and base plate look?
I agree with Huss that the viewfinder window frame is a bit odd, and I would wonder if it would nick-up in a hurry, is it metal? Overall, it looks pretty decent for a first model.

From the initial product shots I was hoping for a Minolta CLE/Leica CL size camera. Especially since it has a small sensor. But this is the same size as an M, and posting a pic of it next to an M doesn't do it any favors. The Leica looks way nicer and a cleaner design. The viewfinder surround on the Pixiii looks like it was grafted on from a different camera.
This maybe one of those few cameras that looks better in silver.

Well, the X-Pro3 you and I like is the same size with the sane size sensor. Also, while the Leica might look nicer ($5000 nicer) it’s not like the Pixii is ugly. Aesthetics are subjective and I actually like it.

But the XP3 is not a Leica alternative per se. It is an AF camera with Fuji X mount lenses. There is no optical RF in it etc.
I was expecting it to be a CL sized camera, just because it sorta looks like one, and the fact it is an M mount etc . But I get that this is misplaced, just my hopeful thinking.

I'm sure I'm not the first one to notice it but the design reminds me a bit of the Leica Sofort.

That is sofortunate.
You know the Sofort is Leica's best selling camera?

Really? I guess it’s the cheapest (yet still relevant) way to get the dot. To me, it’s also beautiful, but not at a 300% premium.

No, I made that up. But it actually makes sense. I see the Sofort in lots of shops, but I don't see Leicas in lots of shops. And it is pretty, has that badge and is dirt cheap in comparison.

I believe it... I think the Q series does really well too.

It seems, that it is possible to take decent pictures with a 12mp camera!

I think xe-1 has much better dynamic range (based on my judgment from those few photos).

yes i think a bit-but lets see after some more photos ... but for 3000 we shouldn't have doubts like those-for 3000 canera have to have everything perfect and ff... i still stay behind my words that this camera had to have price as xe range-everything else is insanity...

We are all aware of that one small set of photos.
Ah ok? Sorry for mentioning it...

Can you explain what you mean by 18mp?

No, expecting that price from a small company is insanity. Maybe $3000 is too much, but give me one example of a new digital camera with a mechanical rangefinder that is priced anywhere near the X-E range.

Maybe he meant 18 megabyte Raw file size?!
