Pixii, the first Leica M mount camera ever made as a company's first product
the first European Non Leica made M camera
at 1/32,000 of a second, the FASTEST shutter on any Leica M mount camera
the only global shutter on any Leica M mount camera
the first Leica M mount camera without shutter curtains!
virtually silent, the quietest shutter on any Leica M mount camera
showing one frameline at a time, the cleanest brightline on any Leica M mount camera
the first non Leica digital M mount camera made since 2004
about the same size and weight as a Leica M, the Pixii feels much like a Leica
amazingly for a first effort, the Pixii's RF/VF is comparable to the Leica M10-P and BETTER than most decades old worn film Leica M's
the box design and presentation reminds me of Apple

That is irrelevant. It has a global shutter and stuff.
You just don't get it.

It makes me suspect that people who have this initial version of the Pixii aren't allowed to post photos taken with it.
Which makes me suspicious of the image quality.
Even the company’s website and Instagram has the same few images from the camera. It’s a beautiful object, but it’s always been obvious that the IQ would not be up to modern standards. I think people want to protect a new company making a new mechanical digital rangefinder camera. It is a rare occurrence after all.
Let’s remember ... we do not know any actual owners of this camera... only testers.
PS: That Voigtlander 35mm looks perfect on it.

The comparison photo with the M just makes the Pixii design look fussy.

about the same size and weight as a Leica M, ...
thanks. I thought this new camera to be smaller than standard M, before seeing them side by side.

The Head Bartender has already been posting samples from the Pixii to the 35/f2 Ultron image thread.

Indeed, I am also surprised that the Pixii isn't smaller. Given that it and the X-Pro cameras are so similar to the M in size, and that two of these three cameras have to incorporate the old Leica rangefinder mechanism and flange distance, it makes me appreciate more what a good job Leica did in digitizing their Ms. Apart from the fat 240 that is.

If you do a flickr search you can find pictures.

PIXII is apparently some type of tag on Flickr, not from the PIXII camera.
This album is from the camera

Flickr searches based on "PIXII SAS" result in nothing though.

I'll look again, after a dozen reviewers have taken this thing through its paces and post many more sample pictures. Design wise, I am confused...instant social media connectivity combined with m-mount manual focusing?

its also called technical progression. something thats possible now wasn't in 2012.

We are all aware of that one small set of photos.

I was given no image limitations at all of any kind.
For me I just have many projects and only 24hr daily.
Putting more Pixii image up and making them available for raw downloads is my plan.

Looks nice, Stephen!
The body's rectangular box with soft edges and the big shutter release look somewhat reminiscent of the Plaubel-esque design meme seen in the Agfa Sensor cameras. It also looks to be a size that will fit a large number of people's hands well, without too many buttons and such in the way of working the controls.
I look forward to seeing some raw image files to experiment with.

This looks like an interesting product. I hope that this company will be successful with it.

From the initial product shots I was hoping for a Minolta CLE/Leica CL size camera. Especially since it has a small sensor. But this is the same size as an M, and posting a pic of it next to an M doesn't do it any favors. The Leica looks way nicer and a cleaner design. The viewfinder surround on the Pixiii looks like it was grafted on from a different camera.
This maybe one of those few cameras that looks better in silver.

Brilliant troll comments,
The size of the Pixii camera is a secret and not placing it beside a Leica M will make it look a lot smaller because no one else on the net is going to put them side by side.
And of course the M10-P Leica is Leica's first camera just like this is Pixii's first camera,
so its not like comparing the aesthetics of a brand new camera manufacturer beside a manufacturer who has made over a million cameras now.
enough already
