Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Dank je wel, Huub! Got this one off ebay recently. It's perfectly clean and has a coated front element. All these were shot with a hood attached at around f6.3. Can't complain - definitely better than the slightly hazy and scratched collapsible summicron i used to own. Guess it's all about condition with these old lenses...

All with Summar.

This last more just because it's recent, and well, the obvious.

First of all, I want to thank Johan for starting this thread and also thank each poster for the images and discussions. This is a great thread for research purposes as I have been looking for as much information on the Summar as possible.

Secondly, I am late to the party, but have just received a 1937 Summar for my M3! :DWhat an eye-opener...never used a collapsible lens before.

So, I am working through a roll of Portra 160 to see what the lens does and how I can use it. After that, I probably will work with a roll of TMAX 400. TriX after that.

Shooting with the Summar is absolutely a hoot!:p

Pre-war Elmar 35

Pre-war Elmar 35

Here are three shots taken using my Leica II and a 3,5cm F3.5 Elmar in Dorset, England. It's a lovely little lens that appears to have been coated at some point in its life.

Leica II and Elmar 3,5cm

Tomorrow I will be taking my 1931 4.5/135 Elmar out with the black&nickel VIDOM and my 1932 Leica II.

Camera is loaded up with RolleiRetro 400 and I will do my best to get the shots I'll take into this thread asap.

Long overdue, that post of mine...

@Dave: thanks, I'm enjoying this thread myself too, I must say!

Here's a shot taken a couple of months ago, but only now just developed. Same camera as last time - Leica IIIa (Jan 1936), uncoated 5cm Elmar, lens was the one originally supplied with the camera. Taken on Svema DS-4, expired 09/1989 and developed in Orwo Color C5168 chemistry.
