Nice capture, Mike!! You must have been quite close to her. Her face is very sharp; looks like you shot this wide open or close to it.

Thank you, Bingley, it's kind of you to view and comment on the post.

Yes, I was close to her, about an arms length away. And, the lens was wide open (f2.8). I used scale focus; I found on the 40mm f2.8 Heliar if I line up the center mark on the lens barrel with the red mark on the outside edge of the lens it's perfectly set for close up work. It was a thick crowd, I doubt she noticed me.

All the best,
Mike

is there any real difference between the ltm v M mount versions?
If you add a screw mount to M mount adapter you can choose which frame lines you get (depending on the adapter).
The 40mm brings up the 50mm frame lines on my M240, which I'm fine with, but if you use a different adapter you can get 35mm frame lines.

@Yokosuka_Mike , really like your work with this lens. :)

Thank you, splitimageview, very kind of you to say so.

The Voigtälnder 40mm f2.8 Heliar Aspherical VM lens is so tiny but it sure packs a punch! I wish Cosina would make a whole line up of them in the standard VM sizes (28mm, 35mm, 50mm, etc...) ; if they did I'd buy them all!

All the best,
Mike

Is anyone using the black version on an m10? I read in many reviews that it has issues with the camera, it doesn't recognize it has a lens attached due to the black coating on the lens base. I prefer to get the black version, but this sounds like an issue since I want to use it on an m10. I thought about getting the m39 version and buying an adapter, but I am not able to find any adapter with good reviews.

As noted at #38-40, I use the black Rayqual adapter between a VC 2.8-40 ltm and the Leica M 10-P, which IMHO is even better than adapters by Voigtländer or the old original Leica ones.
In any case, the Rayqual adapter covers the small window on the bayonet of the M10, where when there is incidence of light, the camera electronics think that no lens is attached and therefore refuses to release the shutter.
