Wotancraft Pilot 7l in black for an upcoming trip to the UK. Wanted something more discrete than a Billingham. Quality seems ok for the $$, but not a screaming bargain. Will do the job.

That's the one. Yes, it is a 2.8 -3.5. Panasonic made another version of this lens that is slower and it has no aperture ring like the 2.8 version does. I shoot mostly primes but this lens is really, really nice. The camera and lens should be arriving today or tomorrow- the mail is running late, as usual.

I am going to find out. :) I shot this camera and lens for about two years and sold it when I moved to micro 4/3. I still shoot m4/3 today, but I always regretted selling the L1.

Sure, why not? I had two of them, sold one to a good friend and another on Ebay. The one sold to my friend is still in use doing portrait work. It's a fine camera, if a little low on pixel resolution compared to today's FF models.

As is often the case, I'm very late to the party when it comes to some popular trends, only placed my very first Aliexpress order a few days ago: I was in search of certain integrated circuits not sold through usual USA channels like Digikey. And while I was at it, I figured I'd take a look around and see what else I might want. And I found this:

Kodak Proimage 100 35mm film from BH. It is designed to be stored at room temperature. I'm planning to take it with me to Asia. It's cheaper in Bangkok but I'm not planning a stop-over there.

This should be fun. These arrived this week. The Iskra needed shutter work with stiff focus and sticky aperture, so that was a learning experience, but it is very nice now. The Moskva 2 looks and functions like new and I don’t think it needs anything. Both have the first roll of film loaded so this weekend will tell if anything remains to be done.
