Weekend Photography Plans: What are you up to?

Heh. I just got my Kiev 4A fixed, so I've got the CZJ 50/2.8 Tessar mounted & a roll of BW400CN loaded and needing finishing. If I have some spare time :bang: I'll dunk a couple more of the pile of rolls of 120 that has built up...

Raid, we've got to stop meeting like this...;)

I just got back from Galapagos (a happening art/performance space in DUMBO) as the semi-official photographer for St. Ann's Graduation Bash. Loud, crowded and animated, my working style (with my Hexar kit and Contax Tvs) could have been choreographed by Quentin Tarantino, minus most of the bloodshed ("Oh, that...? Just a bit of spilled wine on my lens hood...no, I think it's the Shiraz..."). Hoising the cameras over, around, and (respectfully) under the crowds. Shot only four rolls, but somehow it felt like seven or eight...and, no, I didn't forget to reload at any point. Select images forthcoming.

Tomorrow is chock-full o' tech jobs I need to start–or finish–for an assortment of clients, so no snaps that day, salthough I'll drop off tonight's shoot for developing in the morning, then pick up later in the day. Might not get to scanning till early Sunday.

I am still unsure what my weekend program will be like.
In about 3 hours from now, there will be someone installing a cable TV line in Dana's room. Then we will get back the main TV during Mickey Mouse Club House shows!

As for photography, I will relax and enjoy what comes along.

I've already started to straighten out my darkroom, clean up the place. Next is my desk and computer desk. I keep finding prints I don't remember making, mostly work prints on 5x7 RC paper. I found a picture of my son Jonathan. We're sitting in a restaurant that has ashtrays on the table! It looks like a 15mm shot so it can't be all that old. The washing machine is in the darkroom so I'm doing laundry at the same time. I'm going to scan the photo and stick it on my blog later today.

Next on the schedule is to slap my hand if I try reaching for that seductive Bessa L with the 15mm Heliar. I can see her smiling at me from the clutter on the dining room table right now, but I have a hot date with that cute little Leica CL and its 40mm Summicron, which is loaded with Double-X Negative 5222. We're going out into the scattered drizzle and see what looks interesting. For tomorrow? Who knows...I try not to take the M bodies out in the rain.

It is very addictive to use an extreme wide angle lens, and I feel that it will make images look very similar. The 40mm-50mm perspective requires more thought. This is how I feel about it, but I know that others will feel otherwise.

Raid, my problem is that I "see wide". When I first got that 19mm Canon back in '67 I knew that I'd found my future. I've also owned a 20mm Vivitar and a 20mm Zeiss Jena Flektagon. Since I got the 15mm Heliar I've been one happy dude! The 21 Super Angulon sits there unused.

I'm getting my M2 ready for a trek along the North Downs Way from Farnham, Surrey to Dover, Kent (England) -- so technically that's longer than this weekend, but rather 2 weeks on foot... :)

I'll look around at a local street festival tomorrow. Maybe this will be interesting as there are also some artists running around on stilts.

Al,

I now try not to overuse the Canon 19mm lens. I will have with me a 5cm lens to balance between the lenses.

Have fun!

Keep us posted about your extended weekend trip.

It is weekend again, and I find myself still without having taken a photo even though it is 11am on a Saturday!

I will use my M6 with the classic Summicron 50mm thsis weekend.

What are your plans?

It is weekend again. I am always happy when a weekend starts.

This morning, and while at Starbucks and for lunch at Whataburger with my kids, I used a Canon P with Canon 19mm FL plus a Summicron 50/2 with the M6.

What are your plans for this weekend? Is photography one of the activities planned?

Taking (mostly digital for quick posting) pictures of my week-old daughter. Though I'll get in at least a little walk with the FED-2 early tomorrow morning before the thermometer hits 90.

Congratulations on a baby girl, Brian. Now you have a model for all your lens tests!

Another week has gone by,and we are approaching another glorious weekend.

I will try to use FSU lenses such as the J-3 and the J-8 this weekend. It is a FSU weekend for me.

What will you be up to?

This weekend I'll scan some shots from my Horizon 202 that are back from the lab and put another film through the new (to me) Zeiss folder and see if I can get something in focus.
