Pixii has walked up to the company that pretty much established today's current camera form and who has been doing it for nearly a century and said, "I can do that, and better." The French have challenged the German established order and those in it. But put all that aside. It looks like an interesting camera and shows promise. I will have two weeks to decide if I agree.
This does remind me of the old lyrics, "They all laughed at Christopher Columbus when he said the world was round/They told Marconi wireless was a phony . . . "
Pros: First adopters are pleased. They display good photos.
Cons: Non-owners decry the camera as false. They display poor form.
I have more faith in the owners than the non-owners.
Again, I insert this quote:
"Herbert Spencer was an English philosopher, biologist, anthropologist, sociologist, and prominent classical liberal political theorist of the Victorian era. Spencer declares that “there is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance — that principle is contempt prior to investigation.”

I honestly don't get the "it's $3K, what a ripoff" argument.
$3K is honestly a paltry sum in the bucket for so many people and especially those who are buying a brand-new Leica (I doubt people are stretching themselves thin to buy a brand-new M11).
If you're consumed with the price and it being too high, clearly it's not for you. You're not the person who bought a Tesla Roadster and waited for the Model 3. That's not meant as an insult, but rather unit economics at different parts of a product's lifecycle are a very real thing and they appeal to different people.

This is not a formal review, but it provided information that I didn’t know about. I make no judgement either way on this camera, but overall the concept makes sense to me. However, I’ve long been migrating to all-mechanical film cameras.
This is the 26MP version:

The camera is much of a mystery so far. There are few out there. The owners of the 26MP sensor camera seem quite pleased and offer images with good color and all its attributes. I am biased for the camera.

So, let me get this right - the Pixii has no internal storage capability and *relies on a smartphone* for storage?
There are So. Very. Many. Parts failures, slow interfaces, out-of specification interfaces, (in)compatibilities, operating system updates and patches, OS evolutionary changes, etc. that can go wrong with this kind of dependency.
All for the want of a few hundred extra to build in SD card slot(s)?
I wonder why the Pixii people ever thought it was a good idea.

A quick visit to the website, pixii.fr, could be enlightening. The camera comes with 8 to 128GB of internal memory. The cellphone merely displays the photo taken immediately as a JPG. The DNG can be DL'ed should you desire. Really, go to https://www.pixii.fr/ You will learn a lot,

No, You didn’t get it right. The camera has internal storage and at no point do you ever need to use your smartphone, except for updating the firmware.

As boojum stated above, if you go to the Pixii.fr website and just look at the options, you can see the finish and built-in storage possibilities.
The Pixii can be used entirely independently of a smartphone, or you can run its app on your smartphone and have in effect an excellent display for review and a device to transfer image files to for processing. You can also use a thumb drive to off-load photos that in the Pixii storage if you start to run low on space and don't care to use a smartphone.
I ordered a camera with 64G storage. Given the average size of a Pixii DNG file, that's a camera that can hold up to 1200 raw files at a given time. I also ordered a dual-connector (USB A, USB-C connectors) 512G thumb drive (about $50) that will allow me to store up to 9,600 DNG exposures external to the Pixii. I've been shooting with the Leica CL using a single 64G SD card since 2018, with similar-sized raw files, and have *never* run out of storage in a shooting session, takes me about 6 to 8 months to fill the card in normal use.
The software required to output the image files to a thumb drive is so mind-numbingly simple and reliable .... There's less that can go wrong with that than with an SD card cage and SD card.

I’ve never seen my raw files pass 40mb so you will probably get 1600 pictures with ease

Hmm, that's interesting. Ranger9 (or someone else, I don't remember...) posted a collection of 21 Pixii DNG sample files around that I downloaded. Their sizes are somewhat evenly distributed from 40 Mbyte to 55 Mbyte, so I adopted 52 Mbyte as a conservative per-file-size for estimating storage capacity. If the average works out to be smaller files, all to the good!

38-40 is an average for me.

Reading about it a bit more, I actually like this camera and its concept. I like the minimal use of buttons and simple but smart interface; image quality would be more than good enough for me. I could have fun with it.

In the space of time between 4 April and 15 April I have seen the wait time go from two weeks to four weeks. There may be folks who pooh-pooh this camera, well there are, but there are also folks with cash in hand who are buying this camera. If I were part of Pixii I would be pleased and be starting to believe that his thing is working. The reviews on YouTube, and they have photos in them, are positive. The kvetchers have nothing on YouTube because they have no cameras and, therefore, no experience, no photos.
The APS-C "problem" can also work for the owner. With the APS-C 1.5 cropping factor the better central part of the lens is what is used. An old Jupiter 12 would profit from the cropping. So if you like the old vintage lenses this can be a positive attribute. And while their prices have been going up recently the old Soviet lenses are still a pretty good buy as are some old Canons, both LTM's.

It is not at all surprising that the kvetchers don't have anything on YouTube. If they are going to say a bunch of negative stuff, they know you won't click on the link to buy one so they won't get a commission. Why waste time doing a video review if you aren't going to make any money off it? Seems pretty straightforward to me.The reviews on YouTube, and they have photos in them, are positive. Sorry your delivery date got pushed back. Look on the bright side; you have another couple weeks of breathless anticipation to look forward to. Have you picked out a camera strap yet?

There are plenty of kvetchers on YT. It is just harder when comparing tangibles without the tangible itself.
Indeed, I have the camera strap picked out as has been posted elsewhere: pearls to go with basic black.
As for delays in delivery, think how much happier you will be when the camera gets to my door. You will no longer be sorry, we will both be happy. ;o)

Is this fact or opinion or humor?
In a more serious vein I appreciate Mattias Burling's reviews and have for a while now. He is not sponsored. Matt Osborne, "Mr. Leica", announces when he has sponsored gear and if he keeps it or returns it. There are others. Not all the world is bad.

It's a wry, ironic world.
I was in a euphoric state having broken the logjam holding up my Pixii in Kentucky. It should now be on the way to me. So much so that I went downstairs to the Lancia Fulvia and said to it, "You be a good little beast and be nice today, no complaining!" Last time I drove it, out of the blue it had decided not to turn on the instrument lights, not flash the left turn signal indicator light, etc. Well, after sitting for two days, it fired up on the first crank, everything worked perfectly, and it ran to perfection for my two hour joy ride around the area.
I think it knew better than to mess wit' me today. Machines are very smart...
