W/NW: Cambodia

There are a lot of apprentice monks in Cambodia. It’s a poor country and often parents can’t afford to raise them let alone send them to school. I spent my days in PP walking randomly for hours and there are many schools with children all head shaven in classrooms and grounds. In the morning they roam the neighborhoods for alms. I spoke with a few young monks and seems the schools and monasteries do offer education. One young man told me he was learning Korean. Monks only get to eat once a day typically what they get in alms but they can drink. Good hearted people offer the monks sugary drinks like cola so dental medical issues are rising from drinking Pepsi all day.892BE046-5B50-4A22-B00A-9A2C4DA9A131.jpeg
